Prior to loving this work and sharing it with 25,000+ participants in groups and 700+ private clients from 25 countries, I was burnt out and numb to my inner compass after working 12-hour days in New York for a boss who often started calling me at 7:15am

In 2010, I moved to Colorado, to “leave space for my soul to contact me.” On the way to Colorado, I bought a book called “48 Days Til the Work you Love.” I read a chapter and then stopped. Weeks later, at a remote ranch in Colorado, I found myself up at 2am working on a friend’s resume. I was trying to put her brilliance on paper for a dream job I knew she would be fabulous at. It felt like a sign, so I stopped right then and started searching for training. I found a career coach certification program that required registration that same day. I didn’t have a car, so I biked 14 miles to my bank to move money around and make the deposit. I loved the program and months later when I was moving, I came across my since-forgotten book, “48 Days Til the Work You Love.” The receipt was still inside it. I counted backwards and realized that the 2am ah-ha moment and registration for the career coaching program was exactly 48 days after purchasing the book.

The early days:

I started my company when I was 23, aware that I was wildly unqualified. I was working on a certification program for a field that most people didn’t know existed, and held some of my first career coaching calls in the basement storage area of my apartment complex. I shared a bedroom so I needed more privacy, and the basement was handy because it was usually vacant. Plus, they had a spare toilet down there that I could sit on during calls. It was a new, unused toilet, but still.

Soon after, I began conducting workshops for a local Buddhist University as well as the University of Colorado. I was fluent in Spanish and so a big break was when I was hired to provide career and relocation coaching to the Spanish-speaking spouses of employees whose employers were relocating them to the US. They asked me Friday to learn the software over the weekend and start Monday. “Act like you’re not new.” So I did and after launching a new program that served 100% of their Spanish-speaking clients, I was asked to replicate that same program. again…in Brazilian Portuguese. I didn’t speak Brazilian Portuguese. When I finally transitioned to working with people in English, it was easier. And the privilege of watching so many people redesign their lives and careers in a new country and in a new language was wildly inspiring and grounding. I hold such reverence for human capacity to leap into the new.

Since then, it’s been students, recent grads, parents returning to work, people laid off from long careers, executives in top 10 tech companies up to the Fortune 50 President level….humans in flux both 1:1, in groups, multi-day international immersions, virtual trainings with up to 14,000 attendees, and custom immersion programs in the US, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Many intimate moments of people’s deepest dreams and biggest changes. What an enormous privilege.

I recently made a list of what was going on for the people I’m currently working with. I wrote them, “FYI, this is what you’re up to lately.” Here it is in case it helps:

• Reshaping hiring practices at your employer to be more equitable and learning that colleagues are teaching their families about what they’ve learned through your example.

• Holding such a depth of groundedness that the relentlessness of the world is no longer a chronic distraction from your own correct right action, discernment in business, or from the preciousness of being with your child.

• Playing with energetic evocation so masterfully that you experience synergy, chemistry, and connection with people you never expected.

• Planning your birthday party as a family trip to the Caribbean, knowing you’ve built generational wealth for your children and can focus on savoring the richness of being together.

• Basking in worshipful romantic connection; nourishment that fuels the well of insight and inspiration you’re paid good money for.

I would say during your first session, but the truth is that the change starts happening even before the first session. This is why during our first session, I always leave space at the beginning for you to update me on what has transpired since you said “yes?”

This is both objectively true: you are in a unique situation, fact. And it can also be an expression of subtle (and understandable) resistance. If we’re supposed to work together, I bet we’ll know. And separately, I’ve been lucky to work with people in dozens of industries, from 25+ countries, in 3 languages, ranging from factory line worker to creative founders to board advisors to executives up to the Fortune 50 President level…from agriculture and education to biotech and aviation. Government and nonprofit to pre-seed and acquisition.

I’ve been blessed to study patterns of similarity amidst glorious diversity.

For one, we are animals. Secondly, we are divine. That’s why I focus on the body aspect and the God aspect of things. They seem to have a great ROI across peoples’ identities, experiences, and goals.

Nothing to prepare, just a private space where you can speak freely and not be interrupted. On-camera, no AI.

I want you to feel what it’s like to work together, and you can’t really know unless you reveal a bit, or let me join with you. It’s abnormal, courageous relating, I believe. Yes. In certain circumstances, custom payment plans, and even pay-afterward plans are available.

Typically, sessions are offered Tuesdays-Thursdays both in North American mornings as well as afternoon/evenings. Custom availability happily provided upon request.

Some in-person work is available, primarily in the Americas. Captain lover and I spend northern hemisphere winters on a catamaran in the Caribbean and northern hemisphere summers in a cabin in Colorado.

People are often surprised by how happy companies often are to pay for this work together. Set up a call and I’ll coach you on your positioning to them and I’ll also prepare a very corporate-friendly proposal for procurement and HR. At a minimum, even companies who won’t purchase the entire program or contribute financially will give you time off for our work together without you cutting into any of your PTO or vacation. Executive coaching or custom leadership development training is a high-value behavior that managers will usually respect and protect.

What if you’re considering leaving the company? I think it’s completely ethical to have your current employer contribute to our work together. Neither you nor your employer entered into a forever contract with each other.

Companies have even secretly employed me to coach their employees who they suspected wanted to leave…to help them happily exit into something new. Regardless of whether you stay or leave your current company, the work you will do makes you more potent and discerning…contributing faster, more clearly with less effort.

Sometimes, people work with me to improve or change their current role…or to design their own layoff with an exit package. Once they’ve laid themselves off while elevating their team, they do things like finally take that 3-generation family trip to Paris, get a batter job, start a consultancy, have a baby, or rest up.
